The staff were so friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. the beds were incredibly comfy, giving us the best night's sleep. the location was perfect, close to the main street and within walking distance to the Mekong River and local convenience stores. Plus, the food at the bar was delicious and cooked fresh.

One small downside was the lack of air-conditioning in the bedroom, but this is common in many places in Southeast Asia and didn't bother us too much.

I had an incredible experience at Funky Box! The owner went above and beyond to help me with my border crossing to Laos. Plus, they organized an amazing hike to a beautiful waterfall nearby. The town itself is peaceful and there are great bars just a short walk away. I highly recommend this hostel.

The hostel had clean and comfortable dorms, a sociable atmosphere, and delicious food. The staff were helpful and organized boat trips. Perfect for those arriving from or heading to Laos.

Felt lucky, nothing to complain about.

Arrived for one night to transfer onto the slow boat. Really friendly and talking to all guests. Rooms are comfortable as the place is new. Clean shared bathrooms, multiple choices. Good wifi. Menu looked good, Lychee Cocktail is great. Convenient shop with toothpaste and body wash. They offer lots of activities. Nice sitting areas, pool, chess and other games. Great bar and meals. Nice breakfasts available separately. Central location, close to the river and shops. New ownership takes over soon.

Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

The hostel is conveniently located near the main street, making it easy to access delicious local food like pad thai and BBQ. There are also nearby amenities such as the Mekong River, convenience stores, and a 7-11. the dorm rooms are spacious and clean, with lockers and multiple bathrooms available. the staff is friendly and accommodating, even providing early breakfast for travelers with early departures.

The staff was incredibly helpful and even picked us up from the bus station without us asking. the cozy bar downstairs had delicious food at reasonable prices, and we loved the free towels and water. the beds were really comfortable with duvets, a welcome change from the thin sheets we've been used to. And to top it off, we enjoyed a hot shower! the friendly atmosphere and great amenities made our stay at Funky Box unforgettable. Cons: Everything was fantastic! 😊.
